PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of mulfunction and to improve a data input speed by setting up the auto-repeat starting time of a printing data key so as to be longer than that of a command key by a selecting means. CONSTITUTION:When an optional key on a key matrix 1 is depressed and keying is performed, the input is accepted if the input is decided as the 1st input. If the key is kept at the depressed status, it is decided that the keying is not the 1st keying and then whether the key is a command key or not is decided by an ASCII code corresponding to the depressed key through a control part 2. In case of the command key, a repeat start counting value is set up to N1, and in case of the printing data key, the value is set up to N2. In this case, N2>N1 is formed. Then, the contents of a repeat counter are compared with the repeat start counting value, and when the contents of the repeat counter is smaller, the keying is not accepted and repeated reading is interrupted. Consequently, the generation of the malfunction is prevented and the data input speed can be improved. |
