Elastic coupling of rubber or rubber-elastic plastics, for pipes or pipelines has at least 1 centrally positioned, undulatorily curved, extensible, section with, adjacent each end of which there is a cylindrical section. The outer ends of these latter are flanged and have a groove into which a metal flange-ring fits. At each end of the curved section there is a strong ring determining the dia. A the outer end of each cylindrical section there is a collar adapted to position a flanged ring in the groove. The cylindrical sections are reinforced by yarns which subtend an angle less than 55 degrees with the axis of the cylindrical sections. The strong dia-determining ring is made of steel wire cord, glass fibres or very strong plastics filaments.
