14,15-Dihydro-20,21-dinoreburnamenin-14-ol (DDE) isomers of formula (I), including their racemic and optionally active forms, and their acid-addn. salts, are new: (where the H atoms in posns. 3 and 16 can be cis or trans, and the orientation of the H and OH substituents in posn. 14 corresponds to one of two possible isomers, A or B). Cpds. (I) are cerebral oxygenators and vasoregulators, e.g. giving a more uniform increase in vertebral and femoral circulation then vincamine with little or no effect on arterial pressure or cardiac frequency.
