PURPOSE:To facilitate and speed up movement and installation of a machine, by a method wherein, in a caster for a large electronic photo duplicator, the caster is constituted such that movement in a specified direction of the machine enables the caster to be switched to a state in which it can swing or a state in which it can not swing. CONSTITUTION:When movement in a specified direction of a machine causes a caster to swing, a projection 8 of a seat plate 1 of a caster is moved toward a cap body 11 at the forward end of a slide lever 12 and makes contact with the cap body, a tapered part 9 of the cap body 11 is pressed by the projection to move backward the slide lever 12, and the projection 8 is aligned with the slide lever 12 to form a straight line. The projection 8 is engaged with a recess 10 of the cap body 11, and a seat plate 1 is inhibited against rotation to bring the caster into a state in which it can not swing. The projection is moved in the same direction again to separate the projection 8 from the recess 10 of the cap body 11 to bring the caster into a state in which it can swing. This constitution facilitates movement of a machine and positioning of the machine in a set position. |
