<p>A method for producing homo- and co-polymers of 1,3-dienes carrying reactive silyl groups, with 0.4 to 12% by weight of combined silicon, whereby a 1,3-diene homo- or co-polymer having a molecular weight (Mn) of 400 to 8,000 is reacted with a silicon compound of the general formula: < IMG > (I) wherein X is. a hydrolizable residue, and Y and Z may be the same as X independently of each other, or may represent hydrogen, an alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group with 5 to 12 carbon atoms, or an optionally substituted phenyl group. The reaction is carried out at a temperature of 150 to 300.degree.C under an inert gas. The products are useful as bonding agents for filled polymers.</p> |
