PURPOSE:To increase the function and efficiency of a local area network (LAN) and to improve service by allowing any bus interface part conneted to a bus to transmit an optional frame. CONSTITUTION:Plural interface devices 2a-2c are connected on the way of a loop-like optical bus 1 and CPUs 3a-3c are connected to respective devices 2a- 2c. The respective devices 2a-2c have the same constitution and a frame is received from a terminal a1 and applied to an interface control part 22 through an optical/electric converter 21 to decide that the frame is sent for the self-substem or another system. When the frame is for the self-subsystem, the frame is transferred to the CPU3a through a CPU control part 23. If the time elapse which is measured from the transmission of the preceding frame by a timer 24 exceeds a fixed period in case of the frame for another system, the control part 22 transfers the frame to a transmission buffer 25 and transmitted to a terminal a2 through an electric/optical conversion part 26, that the function and efficiency of the LAN are increased. |
