PURPOSE:To obtain a compact device at a low cost, by performing the cooling of a semiconductor rectifying element and the cooling of a semiconductor switching element by a common cooler, and using only one cooling device. CONSTITUTION:A thyristor rectifier 1 and a thyristor 7 of commercial power supply are commonly attached to a block 13. A load current flows to the thyristor rectifier 1 at a normal time, and a current does not flow through the thyristor 7. Meanwhile, when a no-break power unit fails, the load current is supplied from the thyristor 7, and the current does not flow to the thyristor rectifier 1. Therefore, the cooling capability of a cooler is designed so that the capability corresponds to the element having the larger amount of heat generation either in the thyristor rectifier 1 or the thyristor 7. The thyristor rectifier 1 and the thyristor 7 are attached to the same attaching block 13. A heat pipe 14 and cooling fins 15 are commonly used. Thus the compact device can be obtained at a low cost. |
