PURPOSE:To prevent the cord of an exposure lamp from being wound or caught in a copying machine by fixing the cord in the copying machine through a pulley provided to a half-rate carriage. CONSTITUTION:The cord 3 of the exposure lamp 2 incorporated in a full-rate carriage 1 moving on the reverse surface of a platen is fixed with a screw to the fixation part 6 in the copying machine through the pulley 5 provided rotatably to a side part of the half-rate carriage 4 moving a half as fast as the full- rate carriage 1. When the full-rate carriage 1 moves at a speed V so as to expose a copy original, the half-rate carriage moves in the same direction at V/2, so the distance from the exposure lamp 2 to the fixation part 6 of the cord 3 of the exposure lamp through the pulley 5 is considered to be held constant all the time. Consequently, even when the half-rate carriage 1 moves, the cord 3 has no play and moves following up the movement of the half-rate carriage 1 while applied with constant tension.
