Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von flüssigem, lagerstabilem Methylen-bis-(phenylisocyanat), bei welchem man Methylen-bis-(phenyl-isocyanat) in Gegenwart von 1 ppb bis 10 ppm eines Phospholinoxids auf 150 bis 300° C erhitzt und das Reaktionsgemisch nach Erreichen des gewünschten Isocyanatgehalts auf 100° C oder eine tiefere Temperatur abkühlt, das nach diesem Verfahren erhältliche Methylen-bis-(phenylisocyanat) sowie seine Verwendung als Isocyanatkomponente bei der Durchführung des Isocyanat-Polyadditionsverfahrens.
