NEW MATERIAL:A compound in an acid form of formula I (R is H, OH, sulfonic acid, Cl, Br, F. 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, COOH, 2-8C dialkylamino; M is Cu, Ni). EXAMPLE:Dyes for dyeing of printing cellulosic fibers violet to blue with high fastness to light, sweat-light, washing, water, and aqueous chlorine. In case of printing, it shows good resistance to white staining. PREPARATION:Diazotized 6-acetylamino-2-aminophenol-4-sulfonic acid is coupled with 5-sulfo-2-carboxyphenylhydrazine. Then, sulfuric acid is allowed act on the product, heated in an alkali solution to effect hydrolysis of acetylamino group to give a formazan amino compound of formula IV. The product is allowed to react with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine.
