PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform polymeric semiconductor having high electrical conductivity, from a specific polyethylene derivative, an aluminum halide, a copper halide or a silver halide, and a condensed aromatic compound. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyethylene derivative having aromatic substituent group at the side chain (e.g. polystyrene), (B) an aluminum halide, (C) a cuprous halide or a silver halide, and if necessary, (D) a condensed aromatic hydrocarbon having >=10 carbon atoms (e.g. naphthalene, anthracene, etc.) are added to an aromatic solvent (e.g. benzene, toluene, etc.), stirred, and the solvent is removed from the system. The molar ratio of A to C is 1-100, preferably 2-10, that of C to B is 0.5-1.5, preferably 0.8-1.1, and that of D to C is 0.1-5.0, preferably 0.5-1.5. |
