PURPOSE:To prevent a position shift of a magnetic head due to temperature changes by fixing an end of a steel belt to a carriage via a spring set at a single side of the carriage and also welding a belt fixing part having a different coefficient of linear expansion to the other side of the carriage. CONSTITUTION:A spring 29 is set at a single side of a carriage 11, and a belt fixing plate 21 having a different coefficient of linear expansion from the carriage 11 is welded to the other side of the carriage. An end of a steel belt 6 is attached to a steel belt attachment part 15 of the carriage 11 via a belt support member 18 and the spring 29. While the other end of the belt 6 is fixed to the plate 21 via a pulley 5. In such constitution, the tension can be applied to the belt 6. In this case, the material and size LS2 of the plate 21 are selected. This prevents a position shift of a magnetic head 14 which is produced by temperature changes of a magnetic disk 3 and also avoids the generation of an off-track amount. |
