PURPOSE:To lessen the power consumption of the rotor as well as facilitate plunging of the tip of a lift transport device into a layer of powdery and granular material by furnishing a casing surrounding the rotor having vanes with openings at the casing sides for taking in the material, and by installing a material digging means at the lower outside. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 36 is equipped with vanes 40 hanging over with a large width, and the periphery of the vanes is enclosed by a casing 44 having a side opening 46. A fixed member 50 having a sharp head part 48 is mounted to the lower outside of this casing 44. When the lower part of the casing 44 is plunged gradually into a layer of powdery and granular material 12, the portion directly under the casing 44 is shoved aside by said sharp head 48 of the member 50 so as to facilitate the plunging opertion. When further plunging buries the side opening 46 in the layer of the material 12, the material 12 is sent from this opening 46 to the rotor vane 40 in the casing 44 driven by natural flow, and accelerated by rotation of the rotor and released to be then lift transported by a fillet-equipped belt 22, which will suppress the power consumption of the rotor. |
