PURPOSE:The titled stable composition prepared by compounding human serum albumin and adjusted so as to exhibit a specific pH in the state of solution. CONSTITUTION:An interleukin-2 (IL-2) composition can be prepared by adding 0.1-50mg, especially 0.5-20mg of human serum albumin (HSA) to 1ml of an aqueous solution containing 1-80,000 unit of IL-2, and adjusting the pH of the solution at 3-6. The composition is resistant to the lowering of the IL-2 activity during storage, freezing or freeze-drying operation, and the freeze-dried product gives a transparent solution by reconstitution. A composition compounded further with an amino acid gives a freeze-dried product which has improved appearance and can be used as an injection with reduced pain. A composition compounded with a monosaccharide also has the similar pain-reducing effect.
