PURPOSE:To enable provision of excellent acceleration properties, by a method wherein, even if a load change amount exceeds a first set value and additional fuel feed by nonsynchronous injection is executed, when the change amount is below a second set value, the number of synchronous injection times is thinned out. CONSTITUTION:The load amount of an internal combustion engine I is detected by a detecting means II, and an amount of a change produced during a given time is calculated by a change amount calculating means III. When the calculated change amount exceeds a first set value, a given fuel amount is injected by given synchronism of non-synchronism with the aid of an additional fuel feed means IV, and this eliminates defficiency in fuel due to an increase in a load. However, during slow acceleration in which a change amount exceeds a set value and is below a second set value, the number of injection times, executed by the means IV, is thinned by a thinning control means V, and this prevents the occurrence of excess of fuel due to non-synchronous injection during slow acceleration, enables an air-fuel ratio to be always kept at an excellent value, and prevents worsening of emission. |
