PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal color forming material having various kinds of fastness and heat sensitivity in combination and a thermal recording medium using the same, by using a specified color former and a specified color developer in combination. CONSTITUTION:A color former of formula 1, wherein each of X1, X2, X3 and X4 is hydrogen, 1-18C alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, nitroso, hydroxyl, sulfone group, primary - tertiary amino or halogen, and a color developer of formula 2, wherein each of R2 and R3 is 1-18C alkyl or phenyl, are combined with each other, basically, in a theoretical ratio to constitute a thermal color forming material. As the color former of formula 1, there are known a large number of compounds as intermediates for azomethine pigments. The color developer of formula 2 is an amine salt, an example thereof being N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine hydrochlorate. |
