PURPOSE:To obtain a thick film of polyacetylene suitable for secondary battery, etc., by forming a thin film of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst in a closed vessel, feeding acetylene gas to the vessel, forming a polyacetylene base film, and repeating the operations. CONSTITUTION:The first thin film 10 of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst is formed on the prescribed surface in a closed vessel 1, and acetylene gas is supplied to the vessel 1 to form a polyacetylene base film to the prescribed part of the thin film 10. The second thin film of the Ziegler-Natta catalyst thinner than the first thin film 10 is applied to the surface of the base film, and an additional polyacetylene thin film is deposited on the above acetylene base film by supplying acetylene gas to the vessel. If necessary, the third thin film of the above catalyst thinner than the first thin film is deposited, and a polyacetylene thin film is deposited on the additional polyacetylene thin film by supplying acetylene gas to the vessel.
