PURPOSE:To minimize decrease in the amount of electrolyte which results from escaping of the water of electrolyte contained in a lead storage battery through the synthetic resin container outside it by plating the outer surface of the container. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of a container is plated with nickel by a usual plastic plating method. During the plating, the inner surface of the container should not be plated and a plating liquid should not enter the container. It is desirable that the thickness of the plating layer by at least 10mu. As a result, the water of electrolyte escapes outside with difficulty. Therefore, even when a lead storage battery is used at a relatively high temperature for a long time, decrease in the amount of the electrolyte is minimized. Accordingly, the life of the battery can be widely increased. |
