<p>PURPOSE:To detect where a short-circuit happened between turns without temporarily stopping a winding machine by detecting the short-circuit between turns and layers constantly measuring the resistance of a superconductive wire during winding operation. CONSTITUTION:Both the ends of a superconductive wire 6 and led from the inside holes of the innermost layer of the coil drum 3 of a coil frame 1 respectively and connected to the rotating terminals of a slip ring 7. Since the superconductive wire at a normal temperature has rather greater electric resistance per unit length than the resistance of an ordinary wire, a short-circuit between layers or turns can be detected by the reduction of resistance if the short-circuit is occurred by measuring the resistance of the superconductive wire at the output terminal of the slip ring 7 during winding operation. Normally, a slip ring has terminals of two pairs or more and the distortion of a coil frame, etc. are also simultaneously measured using the remaining terminals.</p> |
