The invention relates to an apparatus for automatically measuring the flow of an irregularly flowing-out liquid, e.g. the urine flowing out of a catheter, the liquid amount measured being recordable electronically. At the same time, the discharge hose is guided through a hose pump which is controlled such that the liquid level at a marking in front of the entry to the hose pump is kept constant and the liquid amount which has passed through is measured by counting of the revolutions of the pump. The hose and the liquid sensor may form an exchangeable, disposable unit.
