<p>An acoustic transducer for indicating a maximum permissible level of a conducting fluid in a container is esp. applicable but not limited to measuring bath tub water levels. It does not require mains power but an easily changed battery (22) whose voltage is too low to constitute a danger. The transducer (21) and battery (22) are mounted in a watertight housing (111). The measurement current circuit, is completed externally. For this purpose two electrodes (211,212) protrude through the housing base (1111) to contact the fluid when the appropriate level is reached. The housing has a bell-shaped cover (112) detachably mounted on the bath wall by magnets or suction pads (24). Between the housing and cover is a seal (23). The device is also applicable to explosive areas or wells.</p> |
