<p>The method of securing a member on a plain shaft includes mounting a disc on the shaft by deformation of a boss which is integral with it. Then another member is fitted on the shaft, which is forced against the first member. This release the boss, but the flange is deformed, acting as a locking member against the second member. Thus a ball bearing (4) is held against a collar (5) on a spindle by the boss of a labyrinth seal (3) under the pressure of a collar (1) which is the first member. An outer sleeve (2) is then screwed over the outside of the labyrinth seal, compressing the flange of the collar. This has the locking effect.</p> |
