PURPOSE:To press a recording head against a platen and separate the head from the platen securely and stably, by a construction wherein a pressing means for pressing a recording head against a platen and a pressing-releasing means for separating the head from the platen against a pressing force are provided, and a pressing-releasing lever is oscillated. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential rotating speed of a platen roller is set to be higher than the feeding velocity of a recording paper 15, so that the paper 15 clamped between a press roller 18 and a platen roller 17 is fed in the direction of an arrow in the state of being constantly tensioned. After feeding the paper 15 to a predetermined printing-starting position, a rotary cam 26 is rotated to lower the pressing-releasing lever 27, whereby a thermal head 21 is pressed against the platen roller 17 through an ink film 12 and the paper 15 with a constantly stable pressure by a pressure pin 23 energized by a predetermined spring force of a compression coil spring 24, and overlap printing is conducted sequentially in yellow, magenta and cyan to obtain a color image. |
