PURPOSE:The titled test piece of high versatility that is composed of nicotinamide adenine nucleotide or its phosphate, diaphorase, a pigment and a support, thus enabling simple, prompt and steady detection of enzyme activity. CONSTITUTION:(A) Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), (B) diaphorase, (C) a pigment such as iodonitrotetrazolium violet are mixed and dissolved in water, then the solution is sterilized by filtration. (D) A support such as filter paper is previously sterilized, then dipped into the solution and freeze-dried to provide the objective test pieces.
