PURPOSE:To directly detect the skew of a magnetic card device with a simple constitution, by sticking peelably a thin contact paper, one side of which is coated with a pressure sensible coloring agent, to a ground paper. CONSTITUTION:The skew inspecting paper 10 to this invention is prepared in such a way that a thin contact paper 12, is pasted peelably to a ground paper 11 cut in the size of magnetic cards, and the face of the contact paper 12 being faced to the ground paper 11 is coated with transfer carbon or a pressure sensible coloring agent. If the paper 10 is inserted in the direction shown by the arrow while a magnetic card device is operated and a rotary shaft 24 is rotated by a motor 41, the paper 10 is moved forward with both edges being held by belts and pressed by the front end of a magnetic head 39 when passing below the head 39. Therefore, any skews produced in the magnetic card device can be inspected directly from the belt-like sliding traces colored on the ground paper 11 by the coloring agent, and constitution and operation procedure is simplified.
