PURPOSE:To obtain photo magnetic recording medium consisting of a single crystal cobalt ferrite oxide by subjecting the photo magnetic recording medium consisting of the cobalt ferrite oxide formed by vacuum deposition under specific oxygen partial pressure on a transparent substrate formed with rugged grooves each having a rectangular sectional shape to laser annealing in the atm. CONSTITUTION:The photomagnetic recording medium consisting of the cobalt ferrite oxide formed by the vacuum deposition under the specific exygen partial pressure on the transparent substrate formed with rugged grooves each having a rectangular sectional shape is subjected to the laser annealing in the atm. The width of the rugged grooves on the transparent substrate is preferably 0.5-3mum, the oxygen partial pressure in the stage of the vacuum deposition is 2-6X10<-4> Torr and the photo magnetic recording medium consisting of the oxide is Cofe2-xMxo4 (0.4<=x<=1.1; M=Cr, Tb). The photo magnetic disk which is stable with heat and lapse of time is thus obtd. |
