The novel invention relates in particular to an infrared measuring apparatus for the continuous quantitative determination of individual constituents of flour or other foodstuff milling products in a tubular measuring section (24) having forced transport (27) of the material to be measured and provided with a device (29, 31, 32, 33, 34) for compressing the material to be measured in the region of a sensor (30) for the measurement of the compressed material. In addition, a novel process for the measurement of e.g. protein and water, the milling product being passed over the measuring section (24) and by forced transport, vibrator (27), a slight pressing and smoothing of the milling product is produced in the region of the sensor (30) and during the respective cyclically repeated measurements, milling product is compressed against the sensor (30), the milling product is preferably irradiated in the infrared region and the protein and/or water content (if necessary ash content and/or colour value) of the measurement sample is determined, via the measurement device and computing means (38, 40), from the radiation or light diffusely reflected to the sensor (30) from the compressed measurement sample. <IMAGE> |
