<p>A spreader, for example for distributing fertilizer, has a fastening member (51) for hitching the spreader to a tractor. The fastening member (51) is retained in position by a detent (67) of a pivotable locking element. Withdrawal of the detent (67) from the fastening member (51) allows the fastening member (51) to pivot, so causing the spreader to assume a tilted position for spreading fertilizer uniformly at the edge of a field. The spreader is lowered to the ground to unload the locking element prior to its withdrawal.</p> |
