The procedure relates to the creation and/or changing of lift on any body (10) around which flows fluid. In the region of at least one side of the body the density of the original flow fluid along at least a part of the length of the body is changed. For changing the density of the original fluid a fluid with another density is added to it or mixed with it. The original fluid can be heated or cooled or changed in its density in some other way. An Independent claim is included for a device for carrying out the proposed procedure.
