In de-inking, the flotation of fibre suspensions takes place in a cylindrical vessel 2, into which the fibre suspension is introduced via a connection 36 as primary flow. The fibre suspension is aerated and extracted below the connection 36 via an extraction connection piece 33 and returned to the connection 36 above via a secondary connection piece 35 after further aeration. The volume of the secondary flow carried in the cycle is greater than the volume of the primary flow.
