A setting-out arm, which is mounted pivotably on the doorpost (2) about an axis parallel to the hinge axis (7) of the door, is provided. It limits the open position of the door by means of an abutment and is movable by frictional connection. The setting-out arm, likewise fastened to the door (4) pivotably by means of an axis (10) parallel to the hinge axis (7), consists of two links (8, 9) which are connected by means of a joint (11) designed as a friction break. These links are accommodated in the space between the end faces (1, 3) of the door (4) and the doorpost (2) which confront one another when the door is closed. The abutment (14, 15) takes effect before the extended link position is reached. A simple construction requiring only a small installation space is achieved. Easy readjustment in the event of wear of the friction surfaces becomes possible. An increasing braking force with an increasing door-opening angle as far as the end abutment is guaranteed. <IMAGE>
