PURPOSE:To hold sufficient amounts of ink on the tips of needles by using a constitution in which ink films with meniscus are formed in the tip direction of the needles by ink sucked. CONSTITUTION:An ink film 25 is formed of ink 13 sucked into a slit 18 in a form of having a meniscus in the tip direction of a needle 12. In short, as much as the width of the counter face 23 is only narrowed without reducing the Coulomb's force between conductor cells 19 by the meniscus-formed portion 24. The amount of ink 13 per unit area of the counter face 23 is increased thereby, and flooding ink 13 from the counter face 23 goes into the portion 24 to form an ink film 25 with a desired form of meniscus. Even when the absolute amount of ink 13 to be sucked and held in the slit 18 is not increased, the relative amount of ink 13 to be supplied to the tip of the needles is increased. Clear print can thus be stably provided on a recording paper by the needles 12 to hold sufficient amounts of ink 13. |
