PURPOSE:To decrease battery weight and increase assembly efficiency by directly welding the upper lugs of both plate groups with a copper wire which passes through a partition when plate groups locating on both sides of a container partition are connected. CONSTITUTION:Plate groups 4 and 4' are accommodated in cells 2 and 2' which are located through a container partition 1 to form an anode absorption type sealed lead-acid battery as a monoblock type. When the plate group 4 and 4' are connected, a copper wire 7 is used as connector. The copper wire 7 is passed in cells 2 and 2' through a hole 3 of the partition 1, and welded to the upper end of each lug 5 of plate group 4 and 4', and coated with acid resistant adhesive. Since lead strap and lead connector can be eliminated, weight of battery is substantially reduced. Since jigs for assembly are also eliminated, assembly is simplified. |
