PURPOSE:To provide an insulating clad steel plate having excellent corrosion resistance and stain-proofness by cladding a copper (alloy) or stainless steel plate and a carbon steel plate via a heat resistant insulator such as metallic oxide. CONSTITUTION:A facing material 2 which is a copper, copper alloy or stainless steel plate, etc. and a carbon steel plate 1 which is a base metal are clad after an electrical insulating material 3 consisting of ceramics, glass, metallic oxide, etc. is interposed therebetween. Then even if a flaw 4 including a crack, corrosion, etc. is generated in part of said facing material 2 and even if the plate 1 is exposed to a highly corrosive liquid 5 such as sea water or the like, the considerable corrosion of the carbon steel 1 can be prevented by the material 2. Even if the material 2 is electrochemically nobler than the steel 1, the material 2 is floated from the steel 1 by the material 3 and therefore the circuit for corrosion current is not formed. |
