The invention relates to a quick clamping device for clamping moulds which are used in particular in vacuum forming machines. The clamping device has two double-acting working cylinders (1, 2) which are arranged adjacent to one another at a distance on the underside of the machine table (3) and have rotatable piston rods (10) which are led out at both sides. At the lower ends of the piston rods (10) there acts a rotating or sliding device (27), with which the two piston rods (10) can be simultaneously rotated about a small angle. The upper ends of the piston rods (10) can be inserted into recesses (31, 32) of a clamping plate (30) connected to the mould, which recesses deviate from a rotational shape, are for example square, and carry plates (28) with bevelled edges which correspond to the contour shape of the recesses (31, 32). When the plates (28) are in the analogous position with respect to the recesses (31, 32), the plates (28) can be passed through the recesses (31, 32). In the rotated position, the plates (28), when the cylinders (1, 2) are pressurised, lie against the upper side of the clamping plate (30) (clamping operation) or against the lower side of the clamping plate (30) (lifting during mould change). By means of the clamping device, the mould can be rapidly clamped, aligned and lifted from the machine table for mould changing. <IMAGE>
