PURPOSE:To produce simply and easily a cylindrical tank by exerting the tensile force toward the direction to conform the surface of a metallic plate to the outside peripheral edges of partition plates to the metallic plate to deform successively said plate and welding the butt parts at both edge ends. CONSTITUTION:A metallic plate 10 is installed horizontally and a pair of end plates 2, 3 and a prescribed number of >=1 sheets of partition plates 4 are disposed parallel and a part with and from each other so as to be perpendicular to the plate 10. The bottom parts of the plates 2, 3 and the plates 4 are tack-welded to the plate 10. Wire ropes 16 are attached at prescribed intervals to several points at both edges in the transverse direction of the plate 10 and are pulled diagonally upward by means of a winch or the like. The plate 10 is successively worked along the curved line at the outside peripheral edges of the plates 2, 3 and the plates 4 until the curved surface coinciding with the outside peripheral edges is formed, when the plate is tack-welded to the outside periphery edges of the plates 2, 3 and the plate 4. The plate 10 is formed to an elliptical cylindrical shape and both edges in the transverse direction are butted. The butt parts are continuously welded to complete the cylindrical part. The plates 2, 3 and the plates 4 are thereafter continuously welded to the plate 10 by which the elliptical cylindrical tank is completed. |
