PURPOSE:To prevent the rise of temperature of original glass in the scan start side by stopping a scanning system in the scan end position for a prescribed time when an original placed on the original glass is illuminated with a light source and is scanned and the reflected light is detected to obtain an enlarged copy. CONSTITUTION:A scanning optical system 1 scans in the direction of an arrow A just under an original glass 10 and is returned in the reverese direction. The scanning optical system 1 consists of an exposure lamp 2, mirrors 3, 4, and 5, a focusing lens 6, and a mirror 7. The scanning optical system 1 is placed in the home position (in the right end in the figure) before scann start and scans in the direction of the arrow A in accordance with the copy magnification, and the extent of movement is shorter and the rise of temperature of the original glass is greater according as the magnification of enlarging copy is higher. In case of enlarging copy, the lamp is extinguished at the scan end point, and the scan optical system is stopped there for a prescribed time, and thereafter, it is returned. Thus, the cooling effect of the cooling blast from a fan 12 for the original glass is improved. |
