PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of a developer into the space between a sealing member and another member and to house satisfactorily the developer into a housing part by making the width of the sealing member wider in the part in contact with a member for forming a developing layer and near the same than in the other part. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 10 carrying an electrostatic latent image on the surface and a developing device 12 are disposed so as to maintain a slight space in the proximate position therebetween and a developer roller 16 contg. the developer 14 is disposed to the device 12. The developer 14 is agitated by an agitating member 19 in the hopper 16 and a developing roller 20 is disposed to face a developer supply port 21 of the hopper 16. A blade 23 for electrostatic charge supported by a blade holder 22 is provided to the top edge of the port 22 and a side seal 24 as the sealing member is attached to the side wall of a casing 18 so as to contact with the rotating surface of the roller 20. The width of the seal 24 is made wider than the width of the other member to prevent the intrusion of the developer 14 into the space between the seal 24 and the other member. |
