PURPOSE:Not to contaminate an apparatus even if the pump for purging is carelessly operated, by providing locking means making purging ink not flow out when a printer head exists at a position excepting specified ones. CONSTITUTION:When the carrier 6 loaded with a printing head 11 exists in a purging area, because a pump operating lever 13 is unlocked with an interlock release part 21, a purging pump 12 is operated and a nozzle can be cleaned. On the other hand, when the carrier 6 exists outside the purging area, the pump operating lever 13 is locked with an interlock cam 20, the purging pump 12 can not be operated. Therefore, even if the pump operating lever 13 is carelessly pushed down, ink does not flow out and irregularities like contaminating the apparatus do not occur. |
