In a device for coating iron cores consisting of individual laminates for transformers, inductor coils, measurement transducers or the like, having a laminate transportation device with gripping elements which are fitted such that they can be displaced vertically, it is intended to achieve the object of the laminate edge of the laminates which are to be transported not hanging downwards or not hanging downwards excessively even when the laminate edge projects relatively far beyond the outer gripping element or elements. This object is achieved in that the outer gripping element or elements (2) of the laminate transportation device is or are provided so far away from the laminate edge (14) that the laminate (7) is bent so far that the laminate edge (14) or the laminate edges (14) hang, as a result of the intrinsic weight, below the plane (17) of the laminate or the lowest supporting point of the raised laminate (7), or in that at least one stop (15), which projects downwards in the direction of the plane of the laminates, is provided towards the interior in addition to the outer gripping element or elements (2) or at a sufficiently close distance (16) from it or them. <IMAGE>
