PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and to simplify working and assembling by holding a code by a receiving part having a groove for receiving a jacket of an optical fiber code and a jacket press opposed to the receiving part. CONSTITUTION:The male side of an optical connector consists of the optical fiber code 1 and a male housing 10. An insertion hole 12 having a diameter slightly larger than that of a strand is formed on an insertion part 11 into a female housing 30 of the male housing 10 and the receiving part 14 having the receiving groove 13 of the jacket layer of the code 1 and the jacket press 16 connected to the insertion part 11 through a hinge part 15 on its one end are arranged on the back of the hole 12. The periphery of the jacket is held by both the receiving part 14 and press 14. Thus, the number of parts can be reduced and the working and assembling can be performed extremely simply.
