<p>Reaction products (A), of urea and an oxide, carbonate or hydroxide of Zn, Cd, Ca or Pb, which are opt. solvated, and products employing these compsns.. For use as activated blowing agent compsn. (I) and rubber curing compsn. (II). Reaction depends on temp. and solvent (opt.) used. Pref. prod. corresponds to formula RnM(NCO)2 where M is Zn, Cd, Ca or Pb, R is NH3 or solvent ligand and n (may be fractional) is 0.5 to 4, esp. 1.5 to 2.5. In a claimed process, 2-5 molar proportions of urea and 1 molar proportion of an oxide, carbonate or hydroxide of Zn, Cd, Ca or Pb are heated together at 120-180 deg. cent. with opt. solvent. Esp. urea and zinc oxide at 135 to 160 deg. cent.</p> |
