<p>Compsn. is prepd. by mixing 100 pts. wt. of elastomer, 5-300 (10-200) pts. wt. of water absorbing resin and 0.5-100 (1-50) pts. wt. of water soluble resin for homogeneous dispersion. Pref. elastomers are chloroprene rubber and styrene/butadiene rubber. The water adsorbing resin includes crosslinked polyacrylic acid salt, starch/acrylic acid salt graft copolymer, carboxymethyl cellulose, PVA etc. having a particle dia. of less than 200 (less than 100) microns. Pref. water soluble resin is polyethylene oxide. The three components are kneaded in roll mixer, Banbury mixer, etc.</p> |
