The motor has a shaft on which a flywheel (16) is mounted. At intervals around the circumference are permanent magnets (1) attached to radial spokes (4) by bolts (12). As each magnet passes (17) static pole pieces (2) made of soft iron, the magnetic field induced attracts a plate (6) which hinges up (14) from a base plate. As the magnet moves away from the stator, the plate falls back. - If the reciprocating action of the plates is coupled back to the rotor, by pneumatic, mechanical or other means, it is claimed that the motor will run for a number of years, powered only by the magnetic energy stored in the permanent magnets.
