PURPOSE:To attain ease of polarizing work in manufacturing an array by forming plural interdigital electrodes on the surface of a ferroelectric plate and applying polarization in the state. CONSTITUTION:Plural interdigital electrodes 2, 3 are formed on the surface of the ferroelectric plate 1. Polarization is applied by impressing, e.g., a DC voltage between the interdigital electrodes 2, 3. Thus, a surface exciting type ultrasonic wave transducer long in lateral direction is formed in this way. Then plural elements U having two each interdigital electrodes (in total four) are formed laterally on a line by cutting electrodes 2a, 3a connecting in common the interdigital electrodes 2, 3. The elements are fitted to a wiring board 100 having wire patterns 11, 12 so as to form the array type surface exciting type ultrasonic wave transducer having plural elements. Thus, the polarization in manufacturing the array type is conducted easily in this way. |
