PURPOSE:To reduce the rejection rate of welding by devising such structure of the components of a muffler as requiring the welding only at single point. CONSTITUTION:A box member 8 having open end and a resonance hole 8a is provided. The open side of said member 8 is inserted over the body 7 of muffler. Then said member 8 is stopped while a cover 9 is provided to form a suction path 1. Thereafter, said cover 9 and the jointing portion of the body 7 are welded through hot wind welding.
