PURPOSE:To obtain a molded article suitable for a wood-like product in appearance, having a low coefficient of linear expansion, and excellent physical properties and appearance, by mixing wood flour with a vinyl chloride resin, short glass fibers, an air-release agent, and a specified modifier, followed by extrusion-molding thereof. CONSTITUTION:5-50pts.wt. wood flour dried at a temperature of 100 deg.C or higher for 30min or longer is mixed with 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin, 5-30pts.wt. short glass fibers, 0.3-2pts.wt. air-release agent, and 5-20pts.wt. of at least one modifier selected from among chlorinated polyethylene, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer, and a methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer. This mixture is kneaded in a kneader, and is granulated or pelletized. The granules or pellets are mixed in a hopper dryer at a temperature of 100 deg.C or higher for 30min or longer, and extrusion-molded with a vent-type extruder at a resin temperature of 175 deg.C or lower. |
