PURPOSE:An aqueous slurry containing fine powder of coal sweeping and a binder is stirred to form granules of coal, which are then filtered off whereby fly-off coal in the site of boilers, ironworks and fire power plants is utilized as a resource. CONSTITUTION:Fine powder of coal collected by sweeping is combined with a binder such as crude oil, topping fraction and sludge oil from factories in an amount of 2-20wt% to form an aqueous slurry. The slurry is sent to a granulator where it is stirred to form granules. The granules are separated by screening or centrifugation. In case of difficult filtration, a foaming agent is added to allow the coal particles to float for separation.
