Casting machine for casting pistons

The casting machine for casting pistons reinforced with inserts contains a bed (1), on which mould halves (4, 5) with a vertical parting plane and devices (3) for fastening mould halves and cores are set up. Arranged underneath the mould halves (4, 5) during casting, coaxially to them, is a bottom pouring plate (10) which shapes the piston crown. In its upper head wall, the bottom pouring plate (10) has a cavity (11) which forms part of the piston and, in its upper part, has a recess (12) for accommodating the insert which reinforces the piston. The bottom pouring plate (10) is arranged with the possibility of a reciprocating movement in the horizontal direction into the position underneath the mould halves (4, 5) out of the position outside the area where the latter are situated. The machine also has a metal receiving line (18) for feeding the casting metal to the casting mould comprising two mould halves (4, 5), cores (6, 7) and the bottom pouring plate (10). <IMAGE>
