PURPOSE:To decrease both the off-track degree and the transient thermal off- track degree by using a material having the same linear expansion coefficient as a magnetic disk to a pulley and deciding such a form of a steel belt that produces no relative position shift is produced between the magnetic disk and a head despite a temperature change. CONSTITUTION:The same material is used to a housing 1, a pulley 5, a carriage 11 and an arm 12 respectively with the length ls1 is set equal to the length ls2 in order to prevent a position shift of a magnetic head 14 to a temperature change, i.e., the thermal off-track. At the same time, a ratio K (As2/As1) is set between the sectional area As1 of a narrow belt part 6E and the sectional area As2 of the wide belt part 6B of a steel belt 6 so that no relative position shift is produced between a magnetic disk 3 and the head 14 despite a temperature change. This can omit a special correction member such as an auxiliary carriage or a correction plate, etc. for the decrease of the number of parts. As a result, the constitution is simplified together with an easy assembling process with a magnetic disk device. |
